ASP West Island is happy to welcome Dr. Marie-Claude Leblanc as part of its team. Her arrival is scheduled for June-July.

Dr. Leblanc obtained her medical degree from Université Laval in 2009. She subsequently completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Université Laval from 2009 to 2014. Dr. Leblanc is currently undertaking a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at McMaster University, Hamilton. She is working under the supervision of Dr. Olufemi Ayeni, with a focus on developing skills in hip arthroscopy surgery. Given her wide interest in sports pathology, she is also working closely with Dr. Devin Peterson, Dr. Rick Ogilvie, experts in knee arthroscopy. Finally, her work with Dr. Matt Denkers will allow her to complete her set of skills in knee and shoulder arthroscopy.

In parallel with her studies, Dr. Leblanc served as a reserve Medical Technician in the Canadian Forces. She also enjoys various sports and physical activities, including weight lifting, cycling, cross-country skiing and rock climbing.

What is Whole Body Cryotherapy?

Whole Body Cryotherapy (WBC) is the process of exposing the body to a temperature below -110 degrees Celsius for under 3 minutes in order to facilitate healing and rejuvenation in the body. This is accomplished by mobilizing and activating the regulatory functions within the body.

A Cryo chamber session is safe, quick and more effective than an ice bath. Numerous studies have led to diverse, successful whole body cryotherapy applications in sports, health and beauty care.

New services and a December Promotion at ASP St-Bruno

Pediatric Services
The St-Bruno Action Sport Physio clinic now offers services in pediatrics. Indeed, its multidisciplinary team works hard to unsure the welfare of its young patients. The team consists of a physiotherapist, an osteopath and a doula, a massage therapist and a physiotherapist specializing in perineal re-education.

Pilates Courses
Physiotherapist Isabelle BriseBois, who holds a Stott Pilates certification, offers individual and group Pilates courses to patients.

Perineal Re-education
Physiotherapist and perineal re-education specialist Douanka Gendreau specialises in working with women. Her treatments cover urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic prolapse, pessary use as needed and monitoring pregnant women (pregnancy, use of Epi-No, postpartum), to name a few.

ASP Vaudreuil-Dorion: two awards and new services

Action Sport Physio Vaudreuil-Dorion is overjoyed to have won not one, but two awards at the Vaudreuil- Soulanges Ovations Gala. The clinic has won the service organization of the year award (SME) as well as the business of the year award (Ovation of the year).

This means we will have the honour of representing the region at the Mercuriades, which will take place at Palais des Congrès in April 2015.

We are extremely touched by this recognition and want to share the credit with all the artisans of this clinic.
