ASP Montreal - Downtown: Zumba and Yoga

Instructor
Laurence Sauvé
From January 17th to April 3rd, 2016, the Action Sport Physio Montreal - Downtown clinic will offer Zumba classes from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sundays, followed by Yoga classes from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Register now -- space is limited!

About Zumba®

Zumba is perfect for everybody and every body! Each Zumba class is designed to bring people together to sweat it on.

How It Works

We take the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check.

Benefits

A total workout, combining all elements of fitness – cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class.

About Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is a discipline of body and spirit that includes a wide variety of exercises and techniques. The techniques use physical postures (called asanas), meditation and breathing practices (pranayama), as well as deep relaxation (yoga nidra).

News from ASP Vaudreuil-Dorion

4th Annual Action Sport Physio Benefit Dinner

On Saturday, October 24th, the 4th Annual Action Sport Physio Benefit Dinner organised by our Vaudreuil-Dorion clinic took place.

This year, thanks to the generosity of more than thirty sponsors and the 270 people who came to the event, we exceeded our goals!

More than $6,315 were collected during the evening! The sum of $3,100 will be given to the Cité-des-Jeunes and Chêne-bleu high schools; $2,575 will be shared between seven upcoming athletes and $640 will go to Groupe de soutien du Suroît Arthrite/Arthrose (GSSAA), a support group for arthritis and osteoarthritis sufferers.

Several upcoming athletes from Vaudreuil-Soulanges were rewarded during the evening. The clinic sponsors them to help them perform at the top of their game. We wish them all the best in their respective discipline. They will receive close to $7,500 in cash and treatments from the clinic. Congratulations to :
  • Leeza Lalonde (softball)
  • Jérémy Lebel (football, boxing, swimming, flag football)
  • Emma Berguignol (crossfit)

  • Céleste Dao (golf)
  • Jean-Christophe Nadeau (freestyle skiing - moguls)

A big thank you to the members of our organising committee, who spent hours planning the event. The members of the committee were François Fleury, Marlaine Lalonde, Marie-Hélène Cousineau, Maxime Picard-Courtois et Maxime Besner. Looking forward to seeing you at next year's event!

Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope 35th Anniversary - a run for everyone on April 12th

Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope
35th Anniversary

This year is the 35th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope. Greatly inspired by Terry Fox, Eddy Nolan has always found a reason to fight cancer. The former boxer from Point St-Charles began taking part in the annual Terry Fox Run over 30 years ago. A cancer survivor himself, Nolan also lost two of his sisters to the disease, giving him even more motivation to help eradicate cancer by raising funds for research.

On Sunday April 12th, 2015, Mr. Nolan will be starting his annual 42km race from Action Sport Physio Montreal-West.

This is a tribute run, so there are no fees, however if you would like to donate to the cause, it is always encouraged. Eddy will run the full marathon of 42K. Anyone who would like to join in may do so at their own level i.e.: 5k, 10k, 15k, 20k, etc. The runners will be meeting at the clinic at 7:15AM and the run will start at approximately 7:30AM.

For more information, please feel free to contact the Montreal-West clinic at 514-485-9292.
